For nearly four decades, I have endeavored to communicate my vision with passion and proficiency.  My photographic explorations of light and tone exhibit a powerful counterpoint to communicate a sense of place.  I strive to provide my audience a glimpse into the soul of my subjects through bold and brilliant colors and the harmonious interplay of light, lens and film.  My work has encompassed photo journalism through commercial studio work and distinctive portraiture.  J&K Gerlich Photographic Arts, formed ten years ago with my wife, Kat, has allowed me to travel extensively from Colorado, my home base for over 25 years.  This has provided me with diverse subject matter, typically emphasizing natural and/or historic themes.  I am honored to have had my work featured on magazine covers as well as on display in public, private and corporate venues, and to have been invited to exhibit at 'Top 50' fine art festivals.
